Darkfighter CCTV VS Lightfighter CCTV

When the choice comes to select the best HD CCTV cameras, the integrators, the installers, the end users, and the consultants are all in a fix. Deciding, which is the best HD CCTV camera for the night, for low light or for both is confusing. The installers have to determine, if the camera is integrated with an IK 10 rated housing or an IP66 rated housing or a full body housing.

The other questions, which need to be asked while selecting the best HD CCTV camera is whether it will integrate with the third party VMS solutions or will it, be more efficient when integrated with the proprietary VMS solution. Determining the nature of the footprint; whether it is heavy or dark, does it cost a lot, and how easy is it to manage the internal setting of the camera are all important questions which need to be asked while determining the best HD CCTV camera. When one ponders over the questions, it becomes clear, that the process of choosing the best HD CCTV camera is not easy.

The constant changes and innovations in technology mean that there is no clear definition of best. However, having said this, there are in fact two HD CCTV cameras that beat all other CCTV cameras. These are the Darkfighter CCTV camera and the Lightfighter CCTV camera.

Darkfighter CCTV cameras

The cutting edge darkfighter camera uses a low light MP sensitive lens, which is specifically designed to capture the sharp colors and the monochromatic images in low level light conditions. The amazing thing about the Darkfighter is that at no time, does it go out of the color mode. Usually CCTV cameras go completely black and white. The Darkfighter stands up to its reputation to fight the dark and display crystal clear images even in low light conditions.

So, keep that thing in your mind to install CCTV camera in your office.

Do proper cabling: Proper cabling is very important and you should never ignore that in any condition. Sometimes people use the camera cable along with electrical cable. This is a big mistake that people make in this installation and you should not make this blunder in your office. For this installation, you should have a separate line for the camera cables to avoid any trouble caused by electrical flux.

Remote access: You may not stay in the office all the time but you would want to monitor your employees and office from a remote location. If you have a cctv camera that gives you remote access from any location, then you can do the monitoring easily from outside of your office as well. When I give tips to people for this particular requirement, I always suggest them to use a system that offers remote access. I would give the same tips to you as well for better productivity and results with it.

Check the capacity of recorder: If you want to keep the recording for a longer time in your office, then you should check the recorder capacity as well. Sometime people invest a lot of money in the CCTV camera, its installation and other things, but they do not get the right capacity recorder for their office. This is a mistake that leads them to trouble after some time. So, it is advised that you choose the recorder capacity according to the available camera and your specific requirement.

Choose right angle: To install CCTC camera in your office, it is necessary you choose a right angle for that. If you don’t choose the right angle for the installation of the camera, then you may not be able to capture the people or their faces. That means in the case of emergency or in the case of something mischievous you may find it impossible to solve that issue with your recordings.

The location should be safe: When you do the installation of CCTV camera in your office, then it is also important that you choose a location that is completely safe. If people can vandalize the camera or its cable, then that would not be a good thing for you. Inside the office, you shouldn’t face much of the problems, but still, you should consider choosing a safe location. Also, it should be a good base so it doesn’t get ripped off from the place.

Know the rules: In Singapore there are certain rules and regulations to install the CCTV camera. If you don’t follow those rules then you may face legal troubles. So make sure you understand all these rules and you do the installation accordingly. For example, you are not allowed to install any CCTV camera inside the bathroom or similar private place. Nor you can point a camera outside on the road unless you have a valid reason and legal approval for that. So, keep these tips in your mind for the better result.

Choose a good vendor: None of the tips can do any good for you unless you choose a good vendor for the installation of CCTV camera in your office. Sometimes you may think about installing it on your own, but that would not be a good idea and I am not going to recommend you for that. So, make sure you do not make this mistake in any condition as well for better results.

Do rigors testing: once the installation is done, then you should do a testing for same to cross check things are working properly. If you won’t do the testing then it is possible that things will not work as smoothly as you want them to work. You should check if you are able to access live feed from other place and you should check the recording as well. If you have anything else in your mind, don’t mind checking that as well for better result.

CCTV Footage Storage -
Costs also depend on the camera's storage, whether by means of your computer of through a DVR. The latter entails paying a bit extra on top of the initial CCTV price. Cameras can be set to record footage only when the sensors are triggered in order to save storage memory.

Decentralized IP cameras do not require the NVR, since it has built-in recording functions and have it done directly on standard storage media like SD cards, network-attached storage (NAS), or through a PC or server.

8-Channel digital video recorders or DVRs, and NVRs, come with pre-installed 2TB hard drive that's primarily designed to work with the manufacturer's CCTV range. 8 Mistakes to Avoid On Marine Camera Systems

Today’s technological advancement has made it more convenient and easier to travel all over the world including the marine life. Many people are trying to become divers these days so that they can share the photographs and videos of underwater life, captured by them by using their marine camera systems, with their family and friends. But most of them make various mistakes while working on these underwater cameras, being an amateur photographer. These mistakes can be avoided if they have complete knowledge of the techniques used in them. Some of the mistakes are discussed here under in brief so that you can avoid them while using these underwater cameras in Singapore next time.

Inappropriate use of light: The colours of an object pop up if light is properly focused in it while taking a video. You can avoid unwanted colour or shadows that make your video unrealistic by learning the proper use of light while working on marine camera systems. Moreover you should also learn how to avoid the scattering of light in the water caused by its interaction with underwater particles.

Misuse of red filter: Mostly you see underwater videos in blue tone because the natural colours of sunlight are filtered by the water. The things get bluer as you go deeper into the water but this situation can be handled by using red filter properly. You can add back colours to your underwater videos by using red filter carefully. The colour adding efficiency of your red filter can be affected with the distance between your object and you. The affect of your red filter increases with the decrease in the distance between you and your object and vice versa. The tone of your video will be purple or red if you are too close to the object but if you are using black and white mode then the effect of your filter will be nil.

Inapt use of focus: Most underwater videographers make a mistake of using auto focus while working on marine camera systems. They must use manual focus as much as possible to get the best photos under water. In fact auto focus is used while using camera topside but under the water if becomes difficult for the camera to decide the angle while focusing on the object and for that reason most of the underwater photos look blurred. You go on changing your positions to take the best shot and your camera keeps on hunting for the right place to focus on your object and the results get worse. So you should learn manual focusing of your camera while using it underwater.

Failure to hold the camera stable: You must learn how to hold the camera stable if you want to get worthy videos or stills while shooting underwater. You must have full confidence while using your marine camera under water with perfect control. You cannot get rid of blurry images if you cannot keep your camera perfectly steady. Your photographs will be affected with the swell, current, gravity and surge of water. You can avoid using camera if you are not comfortable while diving. But if you want to make underwater videos then you must practice at other subjects to be a perfect videographer.

Improper selection of shooting angle: While video-graphing underwater sometimes you may get chance to compose your shot perfectly but sometimes not. In such condition it is better to shoot from the front or a bit below the subject instead of from above or behind as these angles will make your photo lifeless or flat. Taking video while the subject is passing along you is another way to get its best photo but for such shot you will have to wait for some time without moving your camera too much.

Use of zoom: The videos look shaky if zoom is used, even while holding the camera perfectly steady. Instead of using zoom underwater you should get closer to the subject to take its close-up shot. But you should be careful while getting close to some of the species as they may attack on you in their self defence.

Improper maintenance of housing: Housing is used with marine camera systems to protect them from moisture and pressures. But is can affect the quality of your video or destroy your video if not maintained properly when it is not in use. Though it is easy to maintain the housing of the underwater cameras but it has to be done regularly so that it may not betray you. You should clean it, lubricate it and reset all of its essentials every time after using it for marine videography, as per the instructions of its manufacturer.

Improper composition of shot: While composing your underwater shot you should not think like a professional director of a movie as it can help you to get many things hanged around you especially when you are doing marine photography or videography for the first time. You should try to shoot your subject from different angles or its different behaviors or movements to get its best images, still or video. Moreover, instead of trying to get the portrait shot of your subject you should focus on its behavior that can be filmed perfectly.

Insufficient control on the operations of the camera: Before diving and filming underwater you should learn to use all the operations of the buttons of your marine camera systems and practice them enough so that you may not be deceived while using them under water. You can capture the best shots of your life if you perfectly know the location of the controls of your camera.

In this way you can take the best videos and still photos of the underwater species in Singapore if you do not repeat the mistakes discussed in this write-up. You can also avoid repeating these mistakes by taking a course regarding underwater photography and videography. They will teach you how to control your marine camera systems under the water and take better videos. It will also increase your confidence considerably and one day you will be able to create watchable underwater videos with proper education and consistent practice.

Pros and Cons On Installing Surveillance Camera for Home

CCTV i.e. closed circuit television systems are security or surveillance camera systems which are deployed to offer protection in crowded places, public areas, buildings, or properties whereby security is deemed essential. CCTV systems are often used in variety of circumstances to offer video surveillance. For instance, businesses use CCTV systems to monitor the behavior of their employees. Schools use the systems to monitor the different activities taking place in the school environment. CCTV also can assist retail establishments by offering protection against loss of theft. CCTV cameras have got redefined security management dynamics, law enforcement activities, terrorism prevention measures as well as general protection of homes and businesses. Therefore, it is important that you install this system in your premises if you really care about your family and property in Singapore. This write up will give you the pros as well as the cons that are associated with installing a surveillance camera.

Pros of Installing Surveillance Camera

Preventing Theft as well as Illegal Activity:
The primary purpose of installing a surveillance camera is to act as deterrence to criminals, petty thieves, robbers as well as unscrupulous elements from indulging in criminal or illicit activities. Basically, the good thing with these security systems is that they can be installed in any place including in townhouses, bungalows, condominiums, apartment buildings, university campuses, schools, stores, malls, offices and in other public places. The camera can monitor suspicious activities, stop vandalism, theft and shop lifting. The system can also alert stationed security officers about any real- time theft taking place in a particular area as long as the place is secured using the surveillance systems.

Staff members monitoring these cameras in your business can also immediately inform you in case of any mysterious or dangerous thing happening in your business premises.

Sexual Predators:One of the biggest threats that most people in Singapore experience is intruders penetrating in their home and sexually molesting their kids. Camera system installed in your home can track down these predators once they happen to penetrate in your premises.

Preventing Bullying:
The new- generation CCTV surveillance camera systems have got voice, audio as well as sound capturing abilities. Therefore, you can be able to hassle free capture any person who happens to harass your family members or workers.

Emergency Evacuation:
The security company manning your camera system can quickly take action about evacuating people in your premises in case of emergencies related to theft or fire or other potential unlawful activities taking place in your premises.

Giving both You and Your Family Peace of Mind:
Once you install CCTV cameras in your premises, you’ll definitely begin having peace of mind since you know that you’re being protected by the system. Your spouse, your kids as well as your worker(s) will also have nothing to fear about in cases whereby you live them alone in the house.

Keeps a Record:
If any criminal activity takes place in your home, investigation will be added by the video that will have been recorded by the CCTV surveillance. Also, if an argument happens to occur between your workers in your house, it will not be necessary asking the workers about what was wrong. You only require consulting the video tape from your CCTV surveillance and it will show you exactly what you require to see.

Cons of Installing CCTV Surveillance Camera Systems in your Home

Despite the system carrying along numerous pros, it has some cons as well. Here are some of them;

CCTV Cameras Do Not Always Work:
Unfortunately, CCTV cameras cannot be able to display every square inch of your home. Basically, even if you position the CCTV cameras correctly, there isn’t guarantee that they will catch any unwanted behavior or crime done on your premises.

A person can easily thwart the cameras by covering them up or by sticking on the lenses a piece of chewing gum. When the cameras are positioned in a place high above the ground, criminals can be able to avoid detection by simply holding their heads down.

Any person who is familiar with your home can still be able to get around the CCTV surveillance and avoid getting caught. Generally, if the CCTV cameras are positioned incorrectly, any high traffic area in your home will not be shown on camera. In such a scenario, much of the behavior which the CCTV cameras are designed to detect may not be captured on the tape.

Does not Provide a Person with Privacy:
Installing CCTV cameras in your home can sometimes cause controversy. For instance, people who’re considered opponents of CCTV cameras normally object to the invasion of privacy which is resulted with constant video monitoring. Workers in your house under constant surveillance by the CCTV cameras can oppose monitoring of their behavior since they believe they cannot be able to work properly when they’re being monitored. Also, some people believe that they cannot deliver to their level best if they happen to be monitored all the time.

They’re Expensive:
Installing CCTV surveillance system in your house will definitely be costly. This is because the cost of purchasing them is high. Also, you’ll be required to hire an expert to install the system in your premises. The security company that will be manning your house will also make you incur more money. If you combine all these costs, you will realize that the entire process is costly.

As you’ve seen, there are a number of advantages as well as disadvantages you’ll experience once you install CCTV cameras in your premises. However, since the pros outweigh the cons, it’s important that you install them in your Singapore home.

It is also important that you carry out a thorough research when looking for a CCTV surveillance system to install in you home since not all of them will provide you with the aforementioned benefit.

Last but not the least, reference from friends, relatives as well as co- workers in Singapore who’re recently using CCTV surveillance systems in their homes can really help you out in finding the right CCTV cameras and also the right security company to man your home. Ensure that you install CCTCV cameras in your home as soon as possible if you want to reap the various benefits that they offer. Thank you.

If you want to see what’s going on in a corner area, then you cannot do that with your fixed camera options. However, you get this kind of flexibility with PTZ camera and you can pan the camera toward that direction, or you can tilt to catch the place. And if that place is at a bigger distance, then you can use the zooming facility of this camera and you can zoom the area without any trouble. Hence, you get flexibility with PTZ camera which is something that you do not get with a fixed camera option.

Coverage to bigger area: In a normal camera option, you can monitor only one side of the area with one camera. But this limitation is not there with PTZ camera because you can cover much larger area with it and you can get better result also with that. For example, if you want to monitor an open parking lot which is very bigger, then you can use this camera and you can monitor it without any problem. In this method you will be able to cover a very big area just with one camera. You can use it for different kind of other places as well and you can get benefits with it easily.

Auto focus: In present time market is full with so many PTZ camera options that can do the monitoring for you as per your requirement. If you want you can find some auto focus monitoring camera that can change the focus according to activities or motion. So, if these cameras will sense a motion on right side then it will tilt accordingly. Also, it can automatically zoom to the point and you can get the best and most amazing result with it in easy ways. So, auto focus quality is a great advantage that you can find in these cameras and you can definitely buy it for your specific requirements.

Cons of PTZ camera

High cost: The cost of a PTZ camera is almost 4 times higher compared to a fixed camera. Also, the installation part requires precision and experts help that also take the money from you. Other than this, chances of failure are also high in a PTZ camera. That means if anything goes wrong with it, then you will need to invest money in the repairing or replacement as well. As a result of that this becomes a very costly options compared to your regular camera.

High failure chances: You have to understand that moving electrical equipment will always get more damage compared to a fixed one. The nature PTZ camera makes it more vulnerable to failure or damage and in that situation you may have no security coverage at all. So, if we talk about one of the biggest drawback of PTZ camera, then we can name high failure rate for that. And when you install it to monitor your premises then you need to stay prepared for this as well.

Chances of blind spots: another drawback of a PTZ camera is that it can have some blind spots in it. People with basic understanding of this system can take the benefit of this blind spot for their benefit and they can keep make mischievous things with that blind spot. You can have this blind spot in PTZ camera because when a camera moves from one direction to other then it can over only limited number of places at one time. This leaves the issue of blind spots in this particular kind of cameras and that is certainly a big drawback of it.

Variation in picture quality: you have to understand this simple fact that if you zoom a camera then you will reduce the picture quality. This zooming, tilting and panning will always affect the picture quality and you will see variation in it. If you will use a very high quality PTZ camera, then you may not notice these problems at visible level, but if you will have an ordinary quality camera, then you will certainly have these problems and you will not be able to do anything with that. Hence, I can name this problem as one more cons of drawbacks of this particular camera systems compared to fixed focus camera system.

Along with all these things you also need to remember that a PTZ camera is good for a larger area and if you will try to cover a small shop or room with it, then you will not get any benefits with it. So, in last I would say, check these pros and cons of this camera in wiser manner and then take your decision with smart ways, so you can get the best and most amazing result with it in easy and really cost effective manner.

Analog System VS HD-SDI Surveillance System

Analog systems are currently the lowest cost surveillance systems on the market, but instead of high definition recording, analog system surveillance can only shoot in standard definition. Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) technology is used by analog cameras, which may seem confusing since the acronym “CCTV” is often used in reference to “surveillance” itself. A BNX Coax cable is used to connect analog cameras.

The High Definition Serial Digital Interface (HD-SDI) video interface was introduced back in 2010 as an upgrade to the Standard Definition Serial Digital Interface (SD-SDI) and it created a lot of hype. An HD-SDI surveillance camera makes it possible for a standalone DVR to have megapixel. An existing surveillance system can be upgraded to HD-SDI without having to rerun coax cables. In comparison to IP cameras, which use higher storage and more bandwidth, it makes more sense to upgrade to an HDI-SDI surveillance system, since these cameras use 575kbyte of storage and half the broadband speed. With HD-SDI you can easily transition to more advanced megapixel systems at half the cost.

IP Cameras

These days, whenever someone thinks about IP cameras, High Definition (HD) video resolutions come to mind. IP cameras are often also associated with words like “megapixel.” Even though each and every IP camera is not megapixel, the use of the term is not wrong since the transmission of the video from an IP camera through the network takes place in digital form. This means that the video footage does not have to be decoded back to digital by the Network Video Recorder (NVR).

With a digital video recorder (DVR), ultimately only standard definition video will be viewed on the monitor. It is true that higher video definition can be achieved if a DVR is upgraded to a Hybrid or NVR system so that IP cameras can be handled. However, if you do not prefer a computer-based DVR and would rather have a standalone system, then an HD-SDI surveillance system is for you since it can easily handle higher resolution, including megapixel cameras.

Origins & Usage Of HD-SDI

High Definition Serial Digital Interface became common and widespread ever since the need to record higher resolution videos arose. HD-SDI made it possible to transfer recorded videos directly to a vide processor from a video camera, without compressing and/or filtering them. Data almost up to 3gbit can be transmitted by this video interface. The output of video transitioning is further increased by HD-SDI and it can output up to a 1080i video resolution. The work scope of HD-SDI was originally limited, as a result of which it was only possible transmit a digital video signal without compressing and/or encrypting it.

Analog Vs. HD-SDI

Ever since the 70s, the world of video surveillance has be dependent on analog system surveillance. No doubt, they are cost-effective, easy to install and use. However, the fact that industry standard analog cameras can only record VGA videos is a major limitation. It is true that getting HD video by upgrading to an IP/Network system can be complicated, costly and quite a hassle, but that was never the case with High Definition Serial Digital Interface (HD-SDI). You will not have to go through the hassle of networking, but you will still be able to take advantage of a crisp, detailed HD video interface. Regardless of your existing surveillance system, it will be feasible for you to switch to an HD-SDI surveillance since the same coax cable can be used that you are probably already using if you currently have an analog system.

Requirements For HD-SDI

Just like the SD Serial Digital Interface, a coax cable is also used by HD-SDI along with an impeded BNC connection. When it comes to surveillance systems, this means that it will be possible to run the cable by using a BNC connector and a coax or RG-59. The main factor that distinguishes HD-SDI from standard analog is that you will have to connect an HD-SDI camera to a DVR that accepts HD-SDI video input. Dedicated channels that you cannot use with an average analog camera will be required in order to make a DVR read HD-SDI video, because of the higher video resolution. With an RG-59 cable, at least 100 m video signals can be transmitted by HD-SDI, beyond which repeaters will be required so that its signal is boosted.

Cost-Effective

In comparison to network IP systems, HD-SDI uses existing coaxial infrastructure in order to reduce costs. If you happen to be on a budget, you will be able to use existing analog Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) equipment if you decide to transition to a hybrid HD-SDI system, and you will then be able to add any many HD-SDI cameras as you need.

Improved Video Quality

Unlike analog and IP cameras, there tend to be quite a few benefits of using HD-SDI video signal. In comparison to an analog camera, video quality is improved by HD-SDI. Usually, video footage recorded by analog cameras is transmitted in an electric signal and the video recorder proceeds to decode it to digital data. This means that after processing, once the LCD monitor displays the video footage, its quality tends to diminish to some extent. Once the video is compressed by the digital video recorder and then saved as MP4 on a hard drive, its quality is further reduced.

Facilitated Video Transmission

In comparison to analog cameras, HD-SDI transmits the electrical signal through a BNC cable and the video signal is encoded using Non-Return to Zero Inverted (NRZI), so the quality of the video footage is never affected. With NRZI, encoded video can be transmitted back to its original data form. Much like IP cameras, HD-SDI cameras also transmit video digitally.

Conclusion

The demand for HD video surveillance continues to grow with each passing day and soon it will replace analog system surveillance. True high definition megapixel video possesses unmatched and unparalled video quality. Thanks to HD-SDI video surveillance technology, the image quality that is delivered is far more optimal conventional analog CCTV. This video surveillance option also happens to be more cost-effective since it can be installed quite easily and can be integrated with an existing CCTV surveillance system.

Wireless CCTV Camera System VS Analog Security Camera

History of CCTV system is more than 50 years old and in this long tenure, this system evolved in a great ways. Thanks to this evolution of CCTV system, you can find so many camera options in the market. But if we look at closely to these camera systems, then we can divide the same in two parts that include analog CCTV camera and IP bases security cameras. In IP based security camera, people mostly prefer to use wireless cctv system as it has so many advantages compared to other options. In case you are also trying to have a CCTV system for your premises and you are not sure about the selection, then I can help you in that. Here, I am sharing a comparison between Wireless CCTV Camera System VS Analog Security Camera and you can take your decision one the basis of these details.

Picture quality: In technology world, newer is always better and same is the case for wireless cctv system as well. As said above analog CCTV camera is there in existence since a long time and it still gives less quality images to you. But in wireless or IP based camera, you can always get better picture quality and if you want you can adjust the frame rate to get even better image quality. This is something that you cannot do with analog system and you may not get high resolution pictures with it.

Installation efforts: You can install a wireless camera in your wireless cctv system at any place without any efforts. To install a wireless security camera, neither you need to have cables for it, nor you have to worry about the other issues. You can simply install the camera at any place with a power source and it will keep working for you. In other words can we say installation of wireless cctv system is quite simple and you can have amazing result with it. However, you do not get this liberty with analog CCTV camera and you need to put cables at all the places before installing it. That means the installation of analog cctv camera is always difficult compare to its wireless counterpart.

Expansion capabilities: If you want to expand the range of your wireless cctv system, then you just need to add a repeater for your wifi network and then you can extend the length easily. This gives you a lot of expansion capability without any trouble. However, you will not have this freedom while using the analog CCTV camera because you need to pull a cable to the end point from your system hub. In other words it is safe to say that expansion capabilities of analog CCTV camera is very less and you need to invest a lot of money and efforts for expanding the network.

Monitoring options: To monitor any recording from analog CCTV camera, you need to be there at a particular place in front of a particular machine. This makes the monitoring a complicated task and you may need to hire few people just for the monitoring duty. As far as monitoring of wireless cctv system is concerned, it is quite simple and easy because you can monitor from any place in the world. For this requirement you just need to connect your monitoring system with internet and then you will be able to get the best and most amazing results in the simplest possible manner.

Storage options: Storage of analog CCTV camera recording is not easy because it consumes a lot of space and you might need to get rid of the recording after a fixed time. If you want to store that recording then you either need to get huge hard disk or you need to burn the recording on DVD on daily basis. Either of this process will consume a lot of time and money both. I am not saying you don’t have to do the same thing with wireless cctv system, but the video size will be smaller compared to analog recording. Also, using codec you can compress the video size automatically and you can save the recording in less space. That will automatically reduce your investment in every was.

Security part: This is a part in which analog CCTV camera can win the race at a certain point. If people want to tap into your security feed then they need to physically access the cable or network. But this limitation is not there in the wireless cctv system because people can hack into your wifi network and they can capture the feed of your camera. But this is not as easy as we say because if you can secure your wifi with some proper setting then people will not be able to access it easily. And there are some encryption software as well that can encrypt the data and you can secure your wireless cctv system in the best possible way. So, we can say this is a part in which both the options can win the race.

Overall cost: While installing the CCTV system, many people take their decision on the basis of cost. Here, you need to understand that the basic cost of analog CCTV camera can be really low compared to wireless camera, but that is not the complete fact. Now a day’s this cost difference is quite low and acceptable. If you check the overall cost for wireless cctv system then you will notice that wireless option is much more cost effective compared to its analog counterpart. Also, in wireless system, you need to invest less money for maintenance part that makes it even cheaper options.

So, when you choose monitoring system for your office, home or any other premises, then I would suggest you to keep these differences in your mind. I am sure that after knowing these things you will be able to take your decision in a better way and you will be able to choose a system for yourself that suit best for your requirements.

Through these tips you will know the things that you need to take into account when buying and installing intrusion detection CCTVs.

1. Buying for the cheapest CCTV
Many say that some cheap things are actually expensive. This statement is very true when it comes to CCTVs. A cheap CCTV service provider cannot offer the perfect installation services that you may need for your landed properties. A CCTV service provider which offers very cheap services often lack the best services so you really need to think carefully before you buy from him or her. The standard price for a common CCTV installation is actually quite equal with the amount that you will pay for service providers which offer CCTV installation with free red alarm installation. Also, dealing with the problems of having a cheap CCTV service provider will actually cost you more in the future.

2. Disregard the prior assessment process
Before you install the CCTV, make sure that you make an assessment first. Having a CCTV as a security option is one the wisest things that you can make. But before you buy a CCTV, you need to have a consultation with a person who can assess the premises of your landed properties and if having a CCTV is really needed.

3. Not working because there are already CCTVs
The primary work of CCTVS is to monitor and record events in your premises but it does not really offer actual security services. That is why you should not leave all the work to your CCTVs because there are still many things that you need to in order to secure your landed properties.

4. Relying much on old technologies
Computer technology is always changing and every now and then more and more improvements are made. That is why you should not be stuck on old technologies. There are many new types of CCTVs that you can use in order to guarantee higher level of security and protection to all of your properties,

5. Having substandard cameras
Substandard cameras can cause you big problems if ever someone intrudes in your property. You will not be able to have a clear picture of the culprit because of your substandard cameras. Also, the point of having CCTVs will be meaningless because you cannot identify the persons who came to your property.

6. Wrong type of camera
For every CCTV device, there is a specific type of camera that is suitable for it. Sometimes, you neglect the fact that you need to match your CCTV with the right type of camera. Because of this, the quality of the videos and pictures will also be substandard. Also, the CCTV will mean nothing if the camera is not right.

7. Lack of lighting in your place
Your CCTV will be able to record everything that is happening in your place. However, if there is no lighting in your place then the CCTV will just record nothing. That is why you need to install lighting posts or other devices that will provide sufficient lighting to your place. You can also buy a CCTV with an installed infra-red light so that you will save some money from lighting expenses.

8. Wrong place of the CCTV cameras
CCTVs will be meaningless if you place them on wrong places. You should put your CCTV cameras on vulnerable and strategic places so that you will be able to get the whole grasp of what happened in your property in case there are intruders in your house. You should also put the CCTVs on places which you don't usually see or notice. You can ask for an expert's opinion for you to be sure that the place of your CCTVs is correct and effective.

9. Improper installation
Sometimes, the supplier commit a mistake when installing the CCTVs. Some providers install the cameras in an improper way which makes the CCTVs ineffective. The CCTVS should be installed in an area where it can cover a wide area. This will save you from buying more cameras because one camera can cover the almost one-third of your place if and only if it will be installed properly.

10. Getting an expensive installer
Hiring an installer for your camera is sometimes the smartest choice because you will know that the location of your camera is perfect. Why Install CCTV With Night Vision

Every business owner or manager in Singapore is obviously concerned about the security of their business premises regardless of its size. This results from the stories that people hear about criminal activities taking place in various places as well as theft by employees. This leads to people having a feeling of insecurity at the back of their minds. This has consequently led to more people desiring to install various surveillance and security tools as a way of bolstering their security. The same security is extended to their businesses in order to protect them from intruders or inside theft. One of the security surveillance tools that is most common amongst most business premises are the CCTV cameras. There are various types of such surveillance cameras with the best ones being those that incorporate night vision to offer better surveillance even at night. There are various reasons as to why you should consider installing surveillance cameras with this kind of a vision and some of these reasons are expounded below:

No Need to Get Other Security Surveillance Cameras

Conventionally, most people went for both indoor and outdoor CCTV cameras to enable them have a round the clock surveillance of their work premises at all times and from different angles. However, there was a challenge when night fall came as the cameras were not able to record clear images. This made it extremely hard for the business owner or the police to make out the intruders in case there was a break in. This prompted business owners to invest in other types of security cameras that had night vision features to enable them capture what transpired during night time. This of course came at an extra cost which was not economical to such businesses.

This scenario brings out one of the key benefits that one stands to enjoy when they invest in CCTV cameras that have night vision capabilities. They have a wonderful vision at night which is great as it ensures that they cover the premises on a 24/7 basis. These types of surveillance cameras are also able to conduct surveillance during the daytime well. This eradicates the need to invest in any other type of lenses as they work effectively no matter the time of the day or night. This makes them a better alternative to the conventional surveillance cameras as they are cost effective and offer more security benefits.

Clear Captures during the Night
Using a night vision CCTV camera offers a business owner with the rare chance of having every activity that occurs at night to be captured in a clear manner. The cameras are manufactured in a way that enables them to capture any motion at night with a nice and clear view. This would assist the police to discern the people or persons captured in such a surveillance footage doing something illegal within the business premises.

Wider Range
Using security cameras that entail the night vision capabilities ensures that you get a wide range of area covered by these cameras. There are CCTV cameras with this capability that are able to cover an area that is in total darkness and measures 200 feet approximately. This is because of the reason that these type of surveillance cameras have a wide range that enables them to cover a larger area than normal surveillance cameras. This therefore reduces the need to install so many surveillance cameras in your business premises in Singapore as few of these cameras can cover a whole extensive area well.

They are not easily Detected
Detection of surveillance cameras is an issue most people looking to install security cameras have to grapple with often. When they are placed in areas where they are easily detected, people may form or devise ways of dodging them in order to continue doing that which is not right away from the camera. It is of essence to take into consideration that most crimes are mostly conducted at night when people believe that most types of CCTV cameras cannot capture them. These cameras with the night vision offer a great solution as they are able to record everything in areas that have no light undetected. This is because they use infrared light sources that tend to illuminate or in other words light up a scene to enable the recording. Luckily this infrared light is usually not sensitive to the human eye and hence no human being can detect that there are surveillance cameras operating in the dark areas.

Reduced Energy Bills
When using the normal CCTV surveillance cameras, you have to provide the source of light for them to work effectively and that means keeping the lights on throughout. This works against you in as far as energy bills are concerned as this raises the amount to be paid for energy consumed. Surveillance cameras with night vision usually come to the rescue in such situations as they do not need anyone keeping their lights on in order for them to function. They are capable of working effectively in the dark and consequently reduce your energy bills without compromising on the security of your premises. They are a great investment as you can be sure of monitoring what happens in your company throughout the day for 24 hours. This is of course without being there as you will not miss a thing at all.

Conclusion

If your business is located in Singapore and wish to have an all-round surveillance of it well without missing any movement or occurrence then you should go for CCTV cameras with night vision. It is clear from all the reasons above that they are the best type of surveillance cameras in the market currently. They can assist you to be in control of your business all the time regardless of whether its daytime or at night. They can also assist you to monitor your office after hours without necessarily hiring the services of a night guard. The key thing to be considered would be the choice of the right CCTV cameras with night vision to fully cater for the needs of your individual businesses based in Singapore.

6 Reasons Why Not To Install Wireless Camera

Well, it has often been said that technology is a double edged sword. While upgrades and innovations benefit us in several ways, they can also cause a lot of trouble. Although the majority of us reap a lot of benefits some people with vested interests often abuse it and make the lives of the rest of us miserable. Lately, you might be thinking of installing a wireless camera, but is it really what you need? Since there are several ways that you can use to enhance the security of your home having this kind of camera is just one of them, therefore, not a must.

The basic wireless camera system consists of a central device that gets signals from other installed sensors placed in strategic places in your home or office. These are always placed at the doors, corners, and other strategic places. Each will then monitor whether that entry point in your home or office has been tampered with. If anything happens that makes the sensor goes off the information will be sent to your camera system which will start recording what has taken place. You can also link them to wireless outdoor systems that will offer an added protection to your home. However, remember that no security system will give you 100% protection that will stop an intruder. This is why it is important to look for something that will do the best job.

Here are the top 6 reasons why not to install a wireless camera in Singapore

· With these cameras privacy is a big issue; in many instances, wireless cameras have caused a lot of controversies especially in work places. There are cases where employees have complained that they are under constant surveillance without their permission thereby interfering with their privacy. Those who feel that there is an invasion in their privacy have even taken legal actions against their employers in the past. Many critics have, therefore, argued that these wireless cameras should not be placed in offices and other places of work. This is because doing so will make the employee think that their employer is up to no good. Installing these cameras means that the employees will never work in a free environment.

· These cameras can be vulnerable; when you try to keep yourself with updated technology in security systems, you should not forget that criminals and other intruders are also doing the same. This is why any clever person will know all about them including how they can be tampered with. More so, they will also figure out how this can be done without being detected. Further, tech savvy intruders who have understood the technology will work out ways of disconnecting or disabling them from their source of power, thereby, rendering them useless. If they found out that you only have a dummy camera they will not be prevented from carrying out their criminal activities. In worst situations, hackers are likely to play havoc with these cameras by using the internet and spy on you instead.

· Installing them is very expensive; while fake wireless cameras may be cheap, the real ones often cost thousands depending on the features, the monitoring system and the number of cameras that have been installed. If you have them installed, you will have to bear all the additional costs that come with them. More so, if you are thinking of doing the work yourself forget about that idea unless you have all the skills and knowledge required for the job. This is the reason why some people may resort to having traditional cameras instead of having wireless ones. But if you do this you may end up damaging the cameras and making them useless.

· These cameras cannot stop theft; generally, wireless cameras enable you to record all the criminal activities taking place and help arrest criminals so that justice can prevail but they cannot help stop theft especially when it is in progress. Unlike the alarm system, they cannot alert you or the security agencies when the crime is about to take place. This means that you will still incur a lot of costs even as you run to the courts and, reorder stolen goods or make insurance claims. This process will not only take longer but will also take you back financially and even make you lose faith in them.

· Interferences from access points; if the wireless camera has not been properly installed, there could be a lot of interference from access points especially the ones that are working from the same channels. This will reduce the quality of the system. More so, the most commonly used channels are always overcrowded hence can prevent the wireless camera from working well. This will actually affect the signal quality and the signal strength almost rendering your cameras useless. When a lot of video streams are transmitted to the camera network they might be overwhelmed and stop working completely.

· Problems with the passwords; with the advent of technology many gadgets always require you to put in your passwords. In most instances, a number of people use characters such as their names or even dates of birth that they can easily remember not knowing that these can be hacked by other individuals. As a matter of fact, such actions are very much vulnerable and can be accessed by anybody. It is true that when you pass information through the internet it has to be encrypted after it has been encoded. This actually prevents it from being copied by other individuals who may be out to no good. However, if you use easy to configure passwords, these technology savvy individuals will definitely interfere with your wireless camera system.

Conclusion

Before making a decision to install a wireless camera, it is important that you have a complete knowledge about them. This will enable you make an informed decision and help you choose a security system that fulfill all your needs. Once you have considered all the advantages and disadvantages you will feel better about the choice that you have made.

How To Plan & Install CCTV For Buildings

CCTVs were specifically introduced to offer extra security. It can be impossible to keep an eye on your property all the time. Even relying on the guards might not be as reliable as such. That is why the CCTV cameras play the role of offering surveillance of your building. With the right CCTV installed in your home or business, you can be assured of enhanced security.

Getting Started With The CCTV

Before you have the CCTVs installed in your building, you will need to start by finding the right CCTV. You will first need to consider where you want to install the CCTV. Whether it is at home, or in your business premises. That is not enough because you will also need to consider the size of the home or business unit. When you consider this, you will be sure of getting the right CCTV for your building. Here are some tips to help you get started with your CCTV;

• Find the right CCTV

The CCTV must be reliable enough, and it must serve you accordingly. You can make this possible by choosing the right CCTV brand. In Singapore, there are various brands of CCTVs, so it is all about choosing one with a good reputation. You can read the reviews of the customers and learn more about the brand. Will it serve you for long enough? Will it break down before within a short time? It is all about finding the right CCTV brand.

• Consider the features of the CCTV

Even if you are confident of having a top-class CCTV, you will still need to consider the features that it entails. It must have features that will serve you accordingly. It is all about choosing a CCTV brand that has reliable features. The features must benefit you in terms of delivering feeds whenever you want to access them. Also, it must be easy to operate, even with the top features. Can the camera deliver the feeds even in the dark? The night-vision feature is one of the most sought-for features in the CCTVs. Ideally, you should choose a camera that can capture the scenes, even in the dark. This assures you of reliability since the thieves will not try to steal from your building without being spotted.

• Consider where you will install the camera

Will the camera be installed inside the house, or outside? Some CCTVs are specifically designed for the outdoor environment. Such CCTVs will be able to withstand the harsh weather conditions, even in the rain. Also, they can endure the scorching sun without tampering with the feeds. For the indoor CCTV cameras, they will not need to have extra features and specifications. Whichever the case, ensure that you choose the camera according to the location of installation. Also, if you want cameras that will monitor the building discreetly, you will need to choose the right cameras. Before you step out to the supplier of the CCTVs, you can write down the list of all the areas you intend to have the camera set up.

Installing the CCTV

After you have all that you need, you will now be ready to install the CCTV camera in your building. With the considerations of the things that you need, it will be time to buy the appropriate cameras.

• Install the cameras in the building

Using the manual that comes with the cameras, you will need to install the CCTV accordingly. Check that the wiring system is in place. When installing the camera, place it where it can capture the building from a perfect angle. Start by installing the camera in areas that are more valuable. You should avoid placing the camera behind flowers since they will block the view. Also, you should place the camera at the entrance of the building, so that you can capture everyone entering the house or business unit.

• Connect each camera to the recorder system

Unless you connect the cameras to the recording system, they will only capture the live feeds, without storing any media. Here, you might not be able to watch the past scenes that the camera captured. That is why it is advised to link the cameras to the recording system. If you have the recording system, you will need to purchase an external hard drive that will store the media. Always go for one with a bigger space for reliability. Most of the cameras that record HD videos will save bigger files, so a hard drive with a bigger space will be more reliable. The recording system that you choose must be able to replay the feeds and also rewind.

• Include a wireless connection

When the cameras have been connected to the recording system, you will need to include a wireless connection to the decoder. When the wireless connection is added, you may connect your decoder to the internet and access it from wherever you are using the IP address. There are some decoder systems that will have a pre-installed wireless connection. It is advised to choose a decoder that comes with the wireless connectivity.

• Hire a Professional

Alternatively, you can save time, energy and effort of installing the system on your own and hire a professional to install the CCTV system in your building. You may start by choosing them to supply you with the right CCTVs to install in your system. Once you have bought the CCTV system from the suppliers, you can then hire them to install the system in your building. There are some suppliers that will offer free installation when you buy their products. This can be a great option to save money and be sure of a stable system in your house or business.

A CCTV system will help you have total security around your building, without the need of hiring guards to watch over the building. If you find a reliable unit, you will enjoy the surveillance of the property, and you can also access it from wherever you are, via the internet. Always go for CCTVs that have a good value for money. They must be easy to use and must deliver the right services that you need. The best way to handle it is to hire a professional to supply you with the right system and install it accordingly.
